Uship? How did you come to that conclusion? It could be his own vessel.

Because i watched it back in the mid to late 00’s. My old man was running boats from The North east to Fl and vise versa. Uship put a whooping on him. He went from $3-4/mi or better to guys running boats down there for $0.75. Guys would put ladder racks on the their F-250’s and put canoes up there to look like a guy on vacation & keep dot away. There was one guy with an Excursion who he crossed paths with frequently. He had a luggage box on the roof rack and was always pulling a different boat. These guys would argue on the forums back then that you had to be over 10’ wide before you needed permits. Most people bidding didn’t have dot #’s, but that never stopped them. It was a shame, it really was.

I considered trying the uship thing with my pickup. I used to commute to a work camp 1000km away on a 14/14 shift. Figured I could cover my travel expenses at least. Then I saw what people were bidding on some of these items. No thanks. My time is worth more than that.
