Training pay is 0.20 CPM, out of training pay is 0.48 CPM. IF YOU DO TRAINING WITH THEM, THEY WILL FORCE YOU INTO A CONTRACT FOR 6 MONTHS MINIMUM IF YOU QUIT BEFORE THEY CAN CHARGE YOU ANYWHERE BETWEEN 4000 to 2000 DOLLARS OR THEY WILL TAKE YOU TO COURT! Most of the Trucks are late Model International LTs and very few Kenworths in between which means your dash always looks like a Christmas tree and you are constantly at risk of having a breakdown, at least the trucks have APUs lol. Make sure you inspect your APU before use since the shop completely missed the gigantic diesel leak which is only just a minor fire hazard. Between 2100 and 2600 miles per week. Orientation takes 3 days and they only pay 100 bucks for those 3 days ($4.16 per hour for 24 hours of orientation and they don’t allow you to do a 34 hour reset before you leave, but hey it’s ok since they give you one meal for you per orientation day worth less than $10 lol) Dispatchers are extremely ignorant to what truck driving is really about and attempt to gaslight you in every possible situation. Owners are definitely two faced, super prideful and full of ego and refuse to acknowledge any sort of accountability for their mistakes. They act way too friendly when onboarding you but as soon as you make a minor mistake or cause a minor inconvenience they show their real colors. THEY WILL TAKE MONEY FROM YOUR PAYCHECK for any minor inconvenience they can get you on regardless of how trouble free you have been. It’s also extremely weird and concerning how one of the owners is ok with cussing and berating his drivers even though he is in his early 30s. Not a good look. It’s blatantly obvious that the owners have a pretty severe case of God Complex. Drop trailers are always messed up since they don’t really care and don’t go after drivers that don’t fix issues with the trailers. Detention and Layover pay is very hard to get since they get bottom of the barrel loads and don’t want to lose the accounts and even then it doesn’t pay anything anyways. THEY LOVE TO FORCE YOU TO RUN SPLIT SLEEPER BERTHS SINCE THEIR PLANNERS AND DISPATCHERS CANNOT PLAN LOADS CORRECTLY AND ARE UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT YOU CAN RUN 70 MPH AVERAGE FOR 11 HOURS STRAIGHT. Main yard at Las Cruces, NM is all dirt so when it rains it becomes a giant mud pit plus it’s usually packed full of trucks and trailers so it’s very difficult to maneuver especially at night since there are absolutely no lights. They have another tiny drop yard in Albuquerque, NM which is shared with a whole bunch of other companies/people so they only have like 5 spots which you can use. Good luck getting ahold of after hours support since they never answer and if you are some how lucky enough to get someone to answer, they are extremely rude and unpleasant to deal with so good luck if you need an EFS code for a lumper at 0200 AM. They also try their hardest to make you drive an illegal trailer or truck through open scales to not have to reschedule the delivery. One dispatcher even bragged about forcing multiple drivers to drive with drive tires that had completely separated from the rim with 40,000 LBS in the box for 100+ miles and used that to try to force me to do the same. (I forced him to pay for a road call and fix my tire but not without arguing with him)

Let me just clarify what I said in the beginning of this post is that if you have a CDL A but have no experience, they will force you into a 6 Month employment contract to be able to drive for them where if you quit early, they will charge you. These guys DO NOT offer training to AQUIRE your CDL A. That’s their way of retaining new drivers by threatening them with fines and court since everyone leaves them. Forgot to also mention they have Driver Facing Cameras.

Yes, I'd seriously reconsider going with wild west Express. I had a similar problem with the training, and you really don't learn much because all you're doing is driving From El paso, TX Too Phoenix, AZ on the I10. You don't really get the experience when you're out on the road by yourself, Also you're stuck with them for 6 months for training, and you'll have to pay for it if you break the contract.

They have always been a bottom feeder company, prolly always will be. I called once and got a dispatcher that was feeling his oats and answered questions he should not have.... that was 20+ yrs ago

Yeah with the ELD it’s pretty difficult to drive over 600 miles a day. Everything has to go perfect for that to happen.

The concerning part about the training run is that these guys run a decent amount of California, Some Rocky Mountains, and The Cascades to go into Seattle so they aren’t training you for actual mountain driving. The only uphill/downhill on I-10 between El Paso and Phoenix is in AZ at the Texas Canyon/ Benson,AZ area.

This comment is not meant to offend anyone, I’m just simply calling out the irony in this situation. The owners portray themselves as down to earth, god devoted, and proud Americans but then they pull things like this on their drivers and most likely their office personnel and shop employees as well. What’s the deal with that.
