Just want to discuss it.
I do wonder about Javalina’s in West Texas?
I can add. I had experience with a pack of coyotes, and a cougar. This was in South Dakota. I had an early warning system called; a bird dog.
The pack of coyotes. I just loaded up my stuff and left. With my handgun in my hand. Ready to shoot.
The cougar. Same thing.
I’ve been told by a very good source. Wildlife will take heed to a warning shot. They will take off and leave you alone.
Just wondering about input and experience from others. After all. We end up out there all alone.
Wildlife....in the oilfield while you are alone? Thoughts?

Not much to worry about with javelinas. On the small side. But I wouldn't let the pack get you down either. Make delicious sausage, btw.
Russian boars would be what you got to watch out for these days.
Bigger problem is the snakes, you'll lose a dog or two to those. -
I worry about feral dogs. They aren't afraid of people.

And carry silver bullets in case you run up on a chupacabra.

US wildlife is not aggressive. Only snakes are dangerous and grizzly bears. Wolves, cougars, pack of coyotes, mountain lions afraid of men. Throw a stone or a piece of wood to them and they will run a away.

Animals aren't the problem, they act sensibly. Humans are the problem.
