Will I make it home on this steer tire?

    Just found this on my PRE TRIP on the passenger steer, 700 miles from home.Can I make it home? Do I keep driving? What happens if I get inspected? TIA

    Idk, me being me I'd probably run it and keep an eye on it. As long as the broken spring isn't gonna fly off and go through someone's windshield

    The only thing keeping that axle attached to the frame is the leaf spring,getting inspected should be the least of your worries,i sat in Minnesota for 4 days and spent $3500 to change both springs when the same thing happened to my truck.im gonna die one day but hopefully not from making a stupid decision.

    Did you report it to your company and if so, will they get it fixed?

    I would get it fixed instead of trying to kill someone.

    Hell of a first post, but commend you finding in pretrip & asking advice.

    Only place I would be rolling is to closest repair facility.

    Not worth risk of killing yourself or innocent others.

    As far as inspection, you will instantly be put out of service with violations. Knowingly driving in that condition after noting on pretrip will be pretty serious. Edit: If it even makes it very far....

    Edit: Huge potential liability issues here if driven & something does happen.
