Here I sit in Oakley Kansas. I was supposed to be home yesterday. For my first week off in 18 months. Got caught in that central east blob. Sat from Sunday 6pm to Tuesday 11am. This is awful. Ive had enough of winter. I’m filing a grievance with the union.
I still need to deliver in Denver before going home to rapid.

18 months? Seriously? I have no idea how one does that. Good luck. If I was in the truck for 18 months I'd need about 18 months off.

I wouldn't mind doing that if I was making really good money, I'm talking about $2000 take-home weekly! Then I would need at least a month off too.

I used to take 3 months in the truck. Then 2 weeks off. It was not good. I wouldn’t suggest it.
This job is different, better. I got two days off at home every week. Just haven’t taken the weeks paid vacation every six months before.
Now that I take it. The winter storms are killing me.

18 months? Are you sure home is still there? May be full of squatters.

I am not judging you in anyway but 18 months without really taking any time, come on man. Life is too short for that. The reason I called this out when I see it either when I personally meet drivers where I see it on these different forms is because I’ve seen the drivers and met the drivers who do this who stay out for two or three months and only take a few days off, and then, when they get older, and they’re ready to hang it up, they regret it. You got to get out of that truck.

Perhaps they let him cash out unused vacation time. My company does.

True, I’m just saying like at 18 months and only taking a week off. You do that a couple of times and you’re a decade older. Lol real quick.
