The office staff will not go home and sleep with no heat and you shouldn’t be expected to either. The truck is either repaired, set to idle while sleeping, you receive a paid for hotel every night or the truck comes back to the terminal immediately. You have to put your foot down sometimes to get the right persons attention who has the ability to solve your problems. Sleeping in a truck without heat is not an option this time of the year.

 

I was in the same exact situation a few years ago. I got the truck back to the home terminal, rented a Uhaul to get home and that was that!! It was Nussbaum out of Illinois, the good Christian folk!!!

 

Get approval to pull into a truck stop and have the shop hook up a computer and remove the idle restriction. Easy peasy, takes five minutes.

I would get that truck back to a terminal ASAP and make travel arrangements home.

 

Send a message via the qual comm advising of your situation. Now there is a record of the problem. Tell them to either fix the truck ( it maybe just a fuse)or authorize a hotel asap. If they give you push back on that, remind them this is becoming a safety issue because you cannot get proper rest.

Then find a new job.
Obviously your safety and comfort is of no interest to them.
