I'm curious how the taxes work when you work for a company incorporated in another state. If I was working for a company in Wisconsin and lived in Michigan, who would I pay my income tax to? Will they not take out the state income tax and just make me file with my state at the end of the year? This has been bugging me for a while--I really don't want to be paying taxes to BOTH states!

I've had it work in two different fashions, depending on the size of the company.

The larger companies typically will withold taxes from your state of residency. Smaller ones will withold from the state of their business' main office.
