I will tell you what CH Robinson is no better and very rude and want to pay you less than s dollar a mile. If the people would stop hauling that cheap freight they would have no choice but to raise the rate. There freight does not move unless we decide to move it. So go ahead work for free and the industry will not change. Thanks for letting me rant.

I do not haul under $2 a mile min. Most the time $2.50 +. Anyone hauling flatbed for less then that is paying to haul. Must have at least to to cover overhead. $1 a mile is a insult.

    Skunk_Truck_2590 and TURKER Thank this.

You are allowing them to hold the truck for 5 days? What did your rate confirmation say? I am not trying to defend them, but what is the real story here? If you did exactly as the rate conf. said and now they are telling you it can't be delivered, you did your part of the contract, and they are not doing theirs. If they won't unload it as promised, tell TQL what they are going to pay or else it is going into a warehouse. Tell them you have OTHER CUSTOMERS who you are supposed to be loading for and that this just isn't going to fit into your schedule. Tell them the next available date you can deliver it is 3 weeks from today. If they know you only have one truck tell them its going to a warehouse. Also don't forget to tell them you are now playing their game, since the contract isn't worth the paper its written on, evidently.

Call the shipper and tell them then! Get a little creative to get that crap off your truck. Tell them you were contracted to deliver it on X, and now receiver is saying they don't want it til Y. Now tell them it won't work with your schedule, and that you will be unable to deliver it until Z. And - FOLLOW THROUGH! If you have to wait 5 days, then who really cares? Drag it home if it isn't too far away. Don't stand for this crap. Tell them it is an extra $400 per day beyond when they contracted you to deliver it.

Have you talked to any supervisors at TQL??

    TQL...TQL...TQL...

How many times they screwed me over. Drove 300 miles deadhead. And than, they just cancelled the load!!! WTF? And, they didn't even give us the money for 300 miles! Even though, they knew, that there are so much miles to drive.
Than, they usually don't know, if there is an appointment or fcfs. So, we always have problem with shippers and receivers.
They usually don't know what they are hauling.
There is so many things to be mad at them. So, now, when TQL calls me, I just don't even listen to what they have to offer.
And why work with TQL if there are so many other great brokers? Just no need to work with TQL.
All agents are careless, and extremely selfish, arrogant people. At least, I had to work with that kind of agents of TQL.
So, just don't bother calling them. My advice.
