The correction can't come soon enough. The ATA created this. They have been screaming about "driver shortage" for too many years. Hopefully no one believes them ever again.

Had a recruiter tell me the other day he’s got a stack of qualified driver applicants however, he agreed there never has been a driver shortage, but there has always been a driver shortage of good quality, competent and safe drivers with a good work ethic. According to him, if you have five years of experience or more with no blemishes on your record, you were in the top 90 percentile still even at this stage, and that percentage probably will go up.

It’s been known for over a decade that there isn’t a driver shortage,to the point where the Department of Labor even called out these trucking companies and told them to increase the pay! The purge has been ongoing since the pandemic ended. The changing policies by FMCSA and the government have accelerated things a notch or two.

We’ve already seen a few players, big and small go out of business over the past couple of years, and it’s still ongoing!

The numbers of this purge keeps growing. The Monday after Duffy's Non-Domiciled BS speech the number was 200,000. A couple of weeks ago it was 400,000. This week is 600,000.

What they are clearly doing is putting fake numbers in hopes there will be some push back on call to clear out unfit drivers. They are trying to put some fear in shippers, ATA companies, and the public consumer that there will be an impending truck driver shortage. Just like the fake shortage they have been claiming for the last 40 years.

Anything to save a buck and not give drivers realistic pay!

USPS tried to ban immigrant drivers

usps tried the ban non domiciled cdls and it resulted in then flipping back to using them and then saying:
“We didn’t understand the magnitude of how many people were using non-domiciled CDLs, and quite honestly, the amount of omits was astronomical."

Clearly it indeed has to be astronomical the number, whatever it is.

I am aware of the article but you know they are not removing the 'non-domiciled CDL' don't you?

It said USPS had a non domiciled CDL ban and then reversed it allowing them back within days.
