    Hey guys,

I just wanted an opinion whether or not this truck is worth the asking price as it appears in this ad. I know they do not make this truck any more, and you could probably put a larger sleeper on it later on in life. I am just wondering if it was worth looking into. If i had the money's to buy it, I would probably put a 35 or 40 ton RGN behind. It seems to me like this truck would be enough. Let me know what y'all think. I'm not sure many of these exist much any more. They stopped making them in 2007. Any input would be nice and helpful. Thank you very much. The link to the Ad is below.

Bet it's an old frac pump truck from the oil fields. Wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole. 2007 with so few miles coupled with that tranny gives it away.

What would be so bad about buying a tuck in such good condition from an oil field? other than maybe lots of idle time? Also, you would have to be ok with driving a 13 which I am. As clean as it looks, not sure why it would be such a no go. I realize the frame and engine have been thoroughly washed and painted. But that is not out of the ordinary for some dealers to do I don't' think. I also don't think that means there is something wrong with it. The dealer selling this has several others like it with custom chrome and custom paints, all with similar miles and trannys. So am I to assume by your comment that all of his trucks are from the oil field as well?

also, I have seen trucks listed with lower miles and when i did more digging came to find out it was an in-frame reman. So how do you know it's not a reman engine or something like that?

Well in his comments he says 8ll tranny, look up what types of jobs those are used for.

Second, if you ever spent time on a pad and saw the abuse those trucks take and the minimal maintenance they get you wouldn't want want one either.

Third, I am sure the drilling company that owned them (if in fact that it was theybwere used for) would get rid of them all at the same time.

It's your money, buy what you want. You posted here asking for opinions and I gave you one.

I mean, I do appreciate your opinion, I really do. Questioning some one's opinion doesn't mean I think you're wrong or even disagree with it or anything like that. I am just trying to figure out how you came to that conclusion. So that being said:

    1) he listed it as an 8LL but the stick indicates it's a 13 so it's listed incorrectly. even if it was, I have driven 8LL's before and they have many other applications besides just the oil field.
    2) I have not spent time on a pad, but from what little I know of it, I am aware there is quite a bit of abuse going on, I have seen trucks abused in many other ways as well. Doesn't mean they aren't any good though, depends on what's been done to it.

Sounds like you have your mind up and are justifying a possible purchase. Like was previously said - run a RigDig.
