My husband just went out on the road. He two inverters. A 400w one is for his xbox only and the other is for his tv and fridge. Anyway he went to turn it all on tonight and the xbox powered up, the red rings started flashing then it shut off. It won't work at all. Does he need a different inverter? He is working for Swift and he thinks they won't let him have anything higher than 400w or connect anything to the battery. He hasn't directly asked so this info may be wrong? Any help would be appreciated!

Swift's policy used to be no inverters at all. If they caught you with one they would drill a hole through the middle of it or confiscate it. Too many idiots overloading them, going to sleep and burning the truck to the ground.

Red ring is also known as red ring of death. He eather over heated the console or not enough power. Better hope its not enough power especially if its not under warranty.

yep he's had the ring of death twice and they ended up sending him another xbox. It is under warranty but its just not getting enough power. I thought I would see what inverters you guys use to get your to work. Anyway thanks for the advice :)

Yes if it doesnt get enough power it will red ring. Like when the power flickers real quick it will do that sometimes they completely whip out and wont work. Xbox's are great systems but are extremely picky haha.

not enough voltage/wattage (power) causes the amperage to go way up.
I THINK?? been a long time since hvac school causing the device to overheat.

The first batch of 360s have been known to have insufficient heat sinks. Don't know if you have one of the older models. I really want to get an X Box 360, but this kind of poor craftsmanship in making a system just really pisses me off.

    Here's a neat website.
