New trucker here. Setting up my truck next week. Want to play games on the road. What's the best WiFi setup for nerds like me?

Not gonna happen at the truck stops. You'll want to have a hot spot on your phone or if you have access to charter communications, Time Warner, or Xfinity accounts you can use their hot spots. But those are far and few between at truck stops.
The truck stop wifi is like logging into a hotel wifi, you connect to a specific website then register.Mark_2wain Thanks this. -
I have my Xbox one on my truck, I update my games when I get home then use my phone's hotspot for online play

The guy at Verizon told me playing Xbox through my phone would overheat it.

Can you not connect to Pilot by setting up the connection without a proxy server, then going in through the browser?
I used to be able to connect my PS4 this way at Pilot, but haven't tried in about a year. If you call Sony they will walk you through setting it up this way.
Still kicks you off every few hours though, and you have to sign back in through the browser. Ping is horrendous sometimes, you can't play anything like a 1st person shooter without getting mowed down. -
TheRipper Thanks this.
