If non CDL driving and looking for CDL job. I'm thinking not really.
-
If it's non CDL B or A driving then that does not apply.
You do have to account for your time going back 7 years or 10 I forget which. Working somewhere non CDL is what you used some of that time doing.
DMV records are only good for violations if any. If none it's clean. Just also be sure to keep a valid DOT medical card for Tier One Interstate and or intrastate commerce tied to your CDL A.
Ive got some years driving a big rig however due to regulations limiting the record to 10 years I would be treated as one without any experience which would not last too long because one never really forgets how to run a 18 wheeler if done it long enough in life.
What companies want is actual verifiable experience running a 18 wheeler long enough to understand you can keep a job for the other side of it.Intothesunset Thanks this. -
The company you apply to will want to verify your employment, just give them the name and number of the family business. There is no need to mention it is a family business, just have them verify that you drove for them the last so many years.
kemosabi49 and Opendeckin Thank this. -
