Well I passed the driving test yesterday! It was my 2nd attempt. Stalled it the first time cause I tried to get fancy. I missed 7th and hit 9th by mistake on a downhill run after a very tight right hand turn. I'll tell you all this, just getting your CDL license a truck driver you are not! Not by any means. All you have getting out of school is the basics to get a license. While I can operate the truck safely for sure, I am in no way skilled at it.

Here in San Diego and maybe in other big cities 4-wheelers are insane. I took my test on a Friday afternoon and traffic was heavy. I had people cut me off, pull out of parking lots in front of me at the last second(blasted one with the air horn while hitting the brakes hard and my DMV tester didn't even blink an eye), people passed me on the right shoulder in their rush to gain a car length more towards the red light. These idiots have no clue what a truck can do to "crush" their dreams.

Anyway, I have some personal business to attend to before I report to my future company in about three weeks. I am curious if anyone has any suggestions on how I could gain some more practice time in a truck before I report? Is renting a truck for a day or two an option. I know from school that each time I get behind the wheel I just get better and more comfortable driving the truck. I would like to continue improving now that I got a CDL in my back pocket. Yeehaw!!!!
