    Pisses me off

Every time they come out with some newfangeled BS refrigerant it seems to remove heat less effectively & cost 800% more a can..

And every time this is the one that's going to sAvE tHe EnViRoNmEnT.!

Glad I snagged quite a few r134 cans when they were still $4.88 a piece for the super tech ones..

Seems they got 33% smaller too?
    Does that say 8oz?

    12oz in the 134 cans

Dont worry once they have the chance. Im sure the EPA will ban AC altogether with exemptions for government facilitys and officals (or expensive taxable permits) because mah ozone.

Maybe 3rd world "emerging nations" or whatever they're called will get said exemption also!?

And the US taxpayer can subsidize it to keep em cool..

Right? Dont get me wrong i hate pollution as much as the next guy. But there are better more enviromentally friendly and cheaper solutions to a lot of this crap. I could go on a whole rant about this tbh.

I planted 2000 trees down the back yard to offset my life and job. 50 of them 115ft+ high. From what I have seen, think I've done more than most environmentalist warriors.

Got a funny story like that. Long story short had a lady driving an H1 key the crap out of my 1 ton and spit in my face because i was destroying the enviroment. Found out later she was also the wonderful woman who headed one of the local green peace movments....and also had just had close to 60 acers of trees cleared from her and her husbands land to use as horse pasture and had sued a local enviromental group trying to stop her buying and clear cutting that much forest for hay burners near yellowstone. Apparently she also had a local stream diverted which caused a lot of downflow issues with wildlife because it looked pretty.

yup, I deliver spring water. Apparently its my fault humans throw plastic bottles everywhere they shouldn't. Still they protest across my driveway with there non recyclable core flute signs and plastic clothing. I love my nature and a tree hugger at heart, but its easier to try and do better than blame someone else.

Yup. Or that instead of practiceing what they preach by using a reuseable bottle they prefer and still use the 1 off disposables that 99% of end up in landfills or lakes. That is totally YOUR fault.

Got a lot of that kinda crap at the oilfields when i did that. Lot of angry yelling protesting people. Yet they cheer on "green" companys even when they do crap like abandon thousands of wind turbine blades. Or dumping 10s of thousands of lithium batterys into city dumps. Or throwing solar panels into the trash.

    Its absolutely bonkers to me.

The price of refrigerant isn't the only high cost. Because the high cost of the evac/charging machine, a lot of shops don't buy them and can't do the 1234yf systems. My wife's Ram had to have the compressor replaced. To replace the compressor and recharge her system it cost us around $4000. 9 months later, it went out again. The warranty covered the parts, but it cost us another $750 in labor...and now it is acting up again. If it goes out again, I am considering selling the whole POS truck for parts.
