YOU’RE FIRED!!! Repair time on the truck counts as a missed day

TL/DR: Got Fired from my company after 2 1/2 yrs because of “attendance issues”

Thought some of you would get a chuckle out of what happened with me.
So for the last 2 1/2 years I was a local driver here in the Cincinnati area, driving to Ft Wayne to pick up and then deliver in Dryridge Ky. (Local delivery and 95% of the time trailer was NO WHERE Near FULL) Anyway, over that period I have had a lot of minor issues, some personal but mainly with THEIR Equipment, now what they DON’T tell you is everytime your truck goes into the shop that counts as a missed day. Well for the last 3 months I have not worked a full 5 day work week because of breakdowns of some sort or another. This last week I woke up Sunday morning in a lot of pain in my jaw, I have worked with a broken back and other injuries so I’m no slouch and work hurt (may not be the best idea but was raised if you can work you should work) Anyway I go to the Dentist monday Morning and they said “Ah yes you have a pretty good infection and impacted tooth", Dr gave me antibiotics, said after 24 hrs come back in and we will giver er a yank, so messaged boss and safety, and they respond cool, get that taken care of and let us know when you are ready to roll. So Tuesday I go in have the tooth pulled, took Tylenol and Ice Packed my face, and let them know Dr wanted me to rest Tuesday and Wednesday and then would be good to go Thursday, (which sucks for pay but it was what it was) anyway I get a message Wednesday from Dispatch saying need you to call in ASAP. So call in and they said okay due to ALL YOUR Absences we can’t have you on this account anymore, so We need you to take your truck back to the ohio terminal. I said “All my absences? What are you talking about, so they listed ALL THE TIMES THEIR truck was IN the Shop, and a couple days where I couldn’t drive because of local area was under a travel advisory and we were not allowed on the road, they tell you during orientation, the driver is allowed to park the truck for ANY REASON, No questions asked, just let dispatch know that you are safe and when you can return to work. ACCEPT FOR THIS ONE ACCOUNT which was never mentioned, apparently you are not allow to have any equipment failures, and they don’t care if your family is in the ER or having emergency surgery, their product is WAY MORE IMPORTANT.

Anyway I immediately threw out a TON of applications, and because I have 8 yrs of clean driving, NO TICKETS, No Accidents, Clean inspections. With in about 3 hours I had 6 job offers for local jobs. So working with a SMALLER mom and Pop company making Almost $3,000/month MORE then I was at a last company,
