I tend to stay northwest or even simi north east when the weather hits. To many drivers have no clue how to drive in it so they stay south, leaving all those nice juicy loads ripe for the picking.
You aint gonna believe this... Yet Another Ic Choice thread move over DFO!

I try to always have a plan to get out of anywhere i go. I'm not messing with raphine I used to haul those loads for JB HUNT nooooo mooooorreeee. I'll just head that way when i random load to texas shows up or i'll bounce around until i end up there..
3.5 Hours Later . Completely wasted day. So as you all know I was in Burlington yesterday, I picked a load today to get me into Md the load shipped out of ephrata.
I get to ephrata to pick up the load and customer has nothing at all on it... no worries ill go get the info from my ica.
Everything goes down hill from this point and i mean fast. I Tell the ICA my issue you proceeds to ask me why i was late? I say to her its impossible i was late, the load just hit the board not more than a hour or so ago and i left right away.
She goes searching for the load info and gets back to me saying that customer service messed up the load isn't going to be ready until Wednesday. I ask about the Detention and she says again i was late and i say to her like hell i was how can i be late on a delivery that was actually scheduled on the wrong dang day. We went back and forth and then she hits me with the load is also now going to New Jersey. All i can do is take it off you or leave it. Im so frustrated at this point i tell her take the load and thank them for costing me 2 hours worth a fuel and putting me in a dead zone.
After a bit i get on the board and there is absolutely nothing running out of the area as expected so no matter what i do I'm going to take loss because of Customer Services incompetence they have one job... ONE JOB ONLY...
So now i have to piece together the shambles that are the remainder of this week. I've blown 4 hours I have 24 hours to work with after tonight heading to pittston tomorrow then up to westfield ma, still working on a second load who knows what after. I may not even get home I'll probably just attempt to get through for a day and just keeping running the recaps. -
Yeah I feel your pain.
I ran 2 P/U's and drops yesterday..Burlington was the last one.
Wrong trailer # and release number..luckly got another set and was off after an hour lost.
Get to my 3rd P/U for the day and low and behold the preloaded trailer turns into a live load.
Wonderful I'm down to 2 hours and 18 minutes.
Can't stay at the customer..so long story short loaded and rolling with 31 minutes left..parking spot at the top of the hill so all was well.
My rep said the same thing this morning..no detention for the switch.
Which is BS IMO.
It is what it is I suppose.. -
I feel like they screwed up I should be compensated in some way I agreed to the terms on the load board. I'm not supposed to pick a load and be worried the load info is all wrong
-
I know it sucks monkey nuts......but it is what it is. Schneider didn't do this to you guys, the shipper did.
Last week showed up at a place for a 10:00 preloaded trailer at 13:30. They started loading me 2 hours later.....
honestly, it kinda screwed my whole week.....
but, that said, I've never beetched about a live that turned into a drop and hook.....and I've had a lot more of them than the other way around.
figure out what belongs to SNI and what doesn't and you're a whole lot less P.O.'ed at the big orange..... -
No No No Schneider did this to me not the shipper when i got to the shipper and i told her my load number she said that doesn't exist called upstairs and they said we have nothing today but we have 2 planned sni loads for tomorrow.
Once back outside thats what i eventually found out from SNI, customer service tried to contact my ica to let them know they made a mistake but she was "away" from her desk. So when she got back and i was able to contact her everything was my fault. While talking to her customer service or someone in contact with them called to give me a message telling me what my ica eventually informed once she found out about the mistake. Im gonna stay p.o ed they wasted 4 hours of my life and my fuel because somebody couldn't put the info in right . -
So by staying P Oed those 4 hours are affecting the rest of your life sounds like you need to move on itsh happens.
-
Im happy now I just had to be pointlessly angry for a while. I generally have a great outlook on everything nothing keeps me down long. I found out my sister in law siphoned 500 dollars from my wifes credit card i spent 2 hours pissed and decided i needed to figure out how to help her learn from her mistake because being mad would accomplish nothing.. kids do dumb stuff.
TennMan Thanks this. -
Lol thats the best way to be........just move on and move forward.
Fajo Thanks this. -
I've decided to be crazy and dip into florida next week, I have a load delivering tuesday morning east of Tampa. Im home now taking my reset heading back out sunday to get to the sunshine. The fun of getting out has already begun I have a couple of quality potentials but ill probably wait til monday and hope some better loads pop up.
In my mind rates leaving florida should be good because they want people to haul what freight they have. How do you convince people to come haul your freight when you arent willing to pay??? Then toss in the fact that its a dead end you need to bait people in.. but thats just my thoughts on it.
