Most people I've seen going into Florida deadhead out cause the rates are better in the surrounding states.

I think we have some rule that we have to haul florida freight if we go beyond a certain point

Simple supply and demand. More freight going into Florida than freight coming out means more available trucks to haul freight back out than loads available. Ergo - rates are driven down and no need for a shipper to 'bait' a truck into Florida to move freight.

If you run south of I 10 they say you have to haul a load out. I am an IC and I haul what I pick not what they say I must do. Freight out of Florida is plentiful..............If you don't mind paying to haul someones freight because the rates suck. Look in Jville and see what you can find thats the best rates out and even then they aren't good.

True I didn't think much about that part I just always think of low rates when I think of Florida.

Half the trucks going in will deadhead out. We always get $4/mile plus 300 bucks going in and almost always come out m/t.

    mattbnr Thanks this.
