I started work for this company that guaranteed $1400 a week. In order for that to happen I needed to be on call for 5 days straight. I was successful indeed and while I only worked a handful of days I was drawing my pay. Then one morning (3-am) I woke up to a voicemail but no icons of missed calls. My ringtone is the famous Jurassic Park theme and it will wake up the dead. I disputed the call and was in disbelief that they took $700 from my check. I confronted them in a non controversial way with simple questions they couldn't answer. That morning I went to the truck where it was safely parked only to discover it had been taken. All my belongings and everything. I was home when they took the truck. I know they have a right to take the truck, but do they have a right to place on my record "Driver Abandonment"?? Please let me know someone thank you.
You be the Jury, is this driver abandonment?

That sounds totally insane to me...accusing you of abandonment is pretty serious, it makes it hard to get another job. Sounds like a pretty bad company from where I'm sitting.
-
Sounds like they didn't have work enough to keep you around and used the "one ring quick disconnect" to get rid of you.
Bean Jr., Flat Earth Trucker and cuzzin it Thank this. -
I'm confused, took $700 for what??
where was the truck when you were home? at the terminal or your house, truck stop?? -
Your phone not ringing could have been caused by a network outage. February 22nd AT&T had a major network outage lasting 11 hours.
May want to look into it with your cell carrier.Bean Jr., Flat Earth Trucker, Oxbow and 2 others Thank this. -
File a report for theft at police station, they can’t take your belongings.
Bean Jr., Flat Earth Trucker, Sons Hero and 3 others Thank this. -
That's right, they should've boxed up your belongings. If this company was made known, they might receive some karma on their end.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Name this company.. folks need to know who it is so folks know to stay away from them.
silverspur and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
If you missed a call or load you didn't get the $1400. Instead you would get a standard cpm rates for the entire work week. T-Mobile confirmed there wasn't a call made to my cell phone. Even if my phone were off, airplane mode it dnd, it still would have to ping the tower. The company accused me of deleting the call logs from T-Mobile side. What a joke. I worked 4 days in 2 weeks for $2800 because I answered every call. The truck was parked safely at a Kroger and police station just down the street. A very good neighborhood. They did to my surprise send back all my belongings but what if I was on the other side of the country? How fcked would I be?
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.
