Today was the most interesting day in trucking for me ever. Had a load of steel high line poles on and some bases for those poles. We had unloaded four poles with no issues. Get to the fifth pad site and unload pole, this site needs one of the bases to. Pick the base up and operator starts to boom over and all hell breaks loose. Base was to heavy and entire truck falls over onto my trailer. Thank God that no one was hurt.

Definitely glad no one got hurt!

    Was your trailer damaged any?

This reminds me of when a forklift tried to pickup a 20k# skid of sheet metal off my trailer. He starts picking up on it and the forklift crashes into the side. He asks how heavy it was, I said 20k just like the BOL says. Then tells me he can only lift 10k with that forklift. Scary part was I was standing on the trailer while it was being unloaded. Learned my lesson that day

Excellent reason to stand clear when getting un-loaded.

The outer floor and rail are bent down a little, four of the five braces on that side are bent. The ones from the frame rail up to the outer floor. Rub rail on top deck is busted. Going 150 miles out of the way from my next load to have trailer checked out further. I will try to get some pics up from my phone, if I can figure that out.

Can't seem to get them to load up. Just picture a power company boom truck laid over on to a step deck with its boom across the load and in the ditch on the other side of the trailer.

Sounds like he wasn't close enough to the trailer and had the boom extended out too much .

He was close enough, we were unloading right on the highway. They were just in a big hurry and did not put the outriggers out on the driver side of the boom truck. A mistake he won't do again I'm sure.
