Its really not that bad, like i said a 20 yard packed well with ashphelt shingles can get up into the mid 8's
-
The truck weighs alot already, a good tandum axle with autotarp will break 15 tons wet weight, boxs are anywhere from 800lbs to 2 tons depending on type
-
This has me thinking about going with a single axle with tags instead. This setup might be cheaper I just would stay away from concrete/dirt and figure out an acceptable limit with shingles to avoid passing the limits. Your thoughts?
-
Its a fine place to start, would be cheaper for sure on fuel, if the chassis is long enough for a standard 22' just need 2 bits of info, the trucks mfg max gvrw, and the wet weight of the truck. (Full of feul a driver excc..) do the math and you have max load weight. Just get reg with a high enough weight to actualy run max. You theoreticly should be able to get near 10 ton load weight with a good setup, with that, very little you cant do. Even concrete, just dont give them a box bigger than 10 yards. If its chuncks like old sidwalk or driveway, and not to much dirt, it would be around 8-10 relitivly full
-
Thats true, just harder to find these trucks and then gathering info about tag axles. Your thoughts on this truck?

Not bad for horsepower, doesnt say if it has a jake, probly a exaust brake cuz its a auto, better than nothing. No auto tarp gives you a little higher load weight, but the hook limits you, they are faster, but less versital, a fixed min hight clearance, cant do self contained boxs, but in certin situations you can trailer a box into tight spots, some reciver boxs have both a cable and hook point, more will have just a cable point, and few will be just hook. We had to send box's bought from cable only companys to a welder and have the hook A frame welded in. There are a few companys that run only hook. If you have no intention of getting into hevey trash work (grocery stores excc) than a hook is better, less to break, easier to use...

Ok, why wouldn't this truck leave th lot by now if its all new yet 2014? Any experience with unilift hook lift? What does the FET included mean? I intend to ask the dealer but just wanted to know your input
-
Well id have to check on the hook hight, it says 54 instaled, 62 aval. That is refering to the hight of the hook relitive to the elbow. Some smaller dumpsters like the type you may pull on a trailer have a lower hook hight than a full size truck would haul, so the hook hight is important. I have used "right hook" i think is the name, no exsperiance with uni hook. The FET is you tax on hevey haul gear, fed exsised tax or somethin like that, means the same as tax title and tabs included, basicly they are covering a portion or all of the tax, see when you transport a truck like that, its empty weight is probly less than 26 grand, so the tabs on it are up to 26, making it dirt cheap tax wise. Problem is, till you pay the tax to get full weight tabs i.e. 54,900 the truck is uselss. Theres only one pic and not much info, could be just a striped down vers. But it seems pricy for a strip down model, not sure why it would be sitting
