Got to love this survey, it's about how well we like the kiosks and all. I tried 3 different times on 3 different kiosks at 2 different Swift locations, none of them went through!

 

I went to the kiosk in my home terminal a couple of days ago and looked in the IMPORTANT ALERTS and found a survey about the kiosks. How I liked them and how well they performed. I started to take the survey and the kiosk went down.

 

It sure doesn't seem random.

Many times it has been when I am just coming off home time and am close to a terminal.

I am assuming they have all been clean. No feedback, you know?


And speaking of scanning in paperwork...

I hear they are going to be installing scanners in trucks with the new QC's.

I wonder how long that will last? I wonder how long the scanners will last?
People tossing them hither and yon... having to stow them somewhere safe... etc. Or will they mount them somewhere on the dash, further obstructing our view?
How about cleaning them? Will they issue cleaning kits and offer training?

I am never more than a couple days from a Flying J or Pilot or Love's.
Or, heaven forbid, a Swift terminal's dodgy scanner.

Installing scanners in each truck is such a waste of $$$ and time (which is even more waste of $$$) And for what? So we can get our paperwork in a day earlier?

I, too, avoid Swift terminals - for many reasons.
The scanners seldom scan correctly or reliably.
The showers are scary.
The food is usually horrific, and the coffee worse.
Trying to park in one, unless I am bobtail, is usually more dangerous than almost any truckstop.

And, I'll probably be 'random' pee tested if I am within 15 minutes of one.

 

Ouch. Just plain OUCH.

 

Ah, don't feel left out. They wouldn't even think of messing with you, Injun. Would you really want to do a random 12 or 14 times in a 12 month period?

You've got leverage. 1) you're a woman, and 2) being in a male dominated industry, being a woman makes you a minority. So you are basically hands off, for the most part. The ones who are royally screwed are heterosexual white males.

 

If your clean, why does it matter? My first year at SRT(4 randoms), I told safety guy they were wasting their moneyas I gladly P.O.D. Now its only done to renew my medical certificate long form.

 

Freakin weird....the survey that is.

I like the Must Park Truck before showering sign though. lol

Although that sign probably means pull away from the fuel island and park before showering. I would think.

Ive gotten some surprise randoms. Nothing like a dignity free workplace. lol
