How many hours can I expect a week as a combo casual driver?! I have a stable job, but $42k yr is getting old. I know casuals don’t get any benefits. But how quickly can one get full time?! In the Florida area.....

Find a company that picks up the slack for others. We don't have a spare board so if I'm on holidays which is often another company pulls my wagon. I know the fellow who fills in for me and he works 5 days a week,,mostly short haul

It’s a fancy word for call you anytime no set schedule. I don’t think going full time there will take long. YRC is always short handed. You’ll probably work a lot of ot. You might want to research on truckingboards.com and ask there. I have to say there are a boatload of LTL’ers drivers and workers go on that site more then here. Especially on the YRC side. I’m sure you can get a answer there.

I just looked over YRC website regarding their expectations

    Batter Up.
"must be willing to stay out 3 weeks"
    "run team"
"average driving 2000 miles per week"

Looks like 3 strikes to me! You would have to be pretty hard up for a job to accept that criteria..
