    I hate the government getting involved but every aspect is regulated and nothing has been addressed on rates or unpaid on duty hours. I welcome this

    Do you think they could possibly get worse than free ? If minimum wage is increasing everywhere to $15 per hour and the average u.s. long haul driver pay is 43k for 60+ hours work this pay structure is terribly broken.

    What if the government says you can only make 5% ? It's for the good of the country and help keeps the prices lower for people at the store. Maybe 15% or 20% I bet you would not like the government telling you how much profit you can make.

    Understood but, I don’t want to take a load 240 miles from Charlotte to Atlanta and the government says the maximum I can make is $1000....

    basically it is steering wheel holders that are blaming brokers because there are drivers willing to take the cheap loads.
