VDO screws all their owners

Nope.
They are still strong in the European market.
It is a BIG surprise they are stopping in the North American market.
I wonder what is the reason behind it.

 

Looks like I’ll probably be making the move over to keep trucking. I got their pro version with ifta tracking plus dash cam cloud service for $50 a month no equipment charges.

I’ll decide by Friday. I still think it’s BS that they charge extra to get your miles per state, that’s MY DATA. The extra $15 includes an ifta service but I don’t need the service. I’ll do my own math and fillings. But with keep trucking that’s the only way you can get your miles per state.

anyways... I got this retired piece of TRUCKING HISTORY from my wife today. She’s the warehouse manager of my parts distributor. The VDO Roadlog promotional stand and unit along with the literature. I’ll keep it in my office for a time stamp in history.

 

I'd turn that into a toilet paper stand in the bathroom, seems more appropriate to me.

 

Here’s what I’ll be testing in the morning.
Just set it all up.
I just can’t bring myself to pay a monthly fee for a seasonal operation.

 

Excellent solution. Handy, right where you can see a good sized screen, good for watching James Bond movies too.

Now VDO road log is memorialized for ever.
I plan to take my VDO out skeet shooting after I’m done with it.
Although it would also be fun to do a little durability testing with it against an ar15?
Maybe I should just do a poll thread on what a fitting end for it would be?

 

I was out for 2 months because of COVID-19. My company opened back up and I had to home school 2 kiddos. During that time, one of the driver's keys for our VDO RoadLog quit working and my boss tried to call into customer service, they've already cut off customer service. It now tells you it is an invalid selection. We are trying out Maven, based out of PA from what I am told. I am setting up all of the systems this week. Luckily, we don't have any runs that are super necessary with our fleet vehicles.

 

Just curious why you didn't go with Keep Truckin?

 

I was still at home with my kids when they made the decision so I didn't get to participate in the process of choosing the new system. I came back and we already had the new tablets.
