OTR, team but low miles due to type of freight. Were thinking 3 weeks out 1 at home.

Midnight, when you talk about both warrantees, make sure you get them to explain in detail what is and isn’t covered and write it down. I bought a few trucks from a ws dealer with the EW it was a third party program which didn’t cover a lot. The sales dweeb misrepresented the program and the first time we used it, the coverage was limited.

i have owned a freightliner and have a mack (witch shares the same dealer network as volvo as they are now owned by volvo) i do most all my own work so i don't use dealer service departments much. but my freightliner went to freightliner a couple times durring my ownership and my mack 3 times for one issue. i feel freighliner had better service. also freight liner is open more hours per day and keeps more parts on hand. in my experience with my trucks.

I bought a 2011 Volvo 64tvnl780. 460,000 on it when I bought it. Have 612,000 on it now. Bought warranty at same time. 2 year National Truck Protection. Totally worth it. Doesn't cover everything like nox sensors but covered all major components. This warranty paid for itself many times over. I would never buy a truck without the warranty.

I bought a 2015 Volvo 780 with 590k on it a year and a half ago. Up to 720k now and almost no problems. Just some routine half million mile stuff I had to have done like radiator, belts/tensioners, water pump. No injector trouble, no iShift trouble, no air leaks, no electrical issues, no aftertreatment problems whatsoever. I haul light when I can but I'm OTR and run about 2000-2500 weekly. I wouldn't trade the Volvo space and comfort for the world.

I am about to have aftertreatment system gone over as PM.

Never been towed or broken down and when I've needed a dealer for a part I haven't had to look hard, nothing like people make it out to be.

Sandard Freightliner warranty includes some period of free towing. Also freightliners you can fix at TA/Petro as they extended their network to this truck stop brand. Volvo warranty is more selective and more expensive. You also have to do additional service to keep the warranty every 150k, which costs $2-3k which is a rip off. Warranty-wise Freightliner is a better choice.
    Unfortunatelly:
We wish you a happy Volvo ownership at this point.

It has been a great truck so far. The 150000 mile service was about $1300 but we have never been down more than a day and never been towed.
