    Hello guys

my cat c13 KCB 2007 ecm got bad. I ended up replacing it with same series engine ecm from Kenworth (same year as mine Kenworth)

I didn’t get it reprogramed , my engine now goes at 65mph at 1300 rpm before it goes at 1400 rpm.

my question is should i reprogram it from cat or leave it as it is , i have no other issues, everuthing is working.

only thing i feel is less rpm makes it little hard to pull hills.

    thanks

All it is is a simple parameter change. Should be able to get it done in under a half hour easy

Cat is asking $400 to reprogram whole ecm to my vin. I am curious like if i leave it like as it now (low rpms) is that any problem to engine or any other issues?

Your engine isn't running at a lower RPM. Your tach is getting the wrong info from the ECM due to wrong parameters being programmed into the ECM.

As for negative long term effects, could be possible.

Check your speed against a gps I’d guess your only doing 60 or61 instead of 65 until you change tire or gear settings in ecm
