It's 1-in plate steel. Not sure I like the way I did it but I'm also not sure the best way to do it. I thought about not doing an x and coming straight in and looping over the long narrow piece.

I have two 25-ft chains and two binders left for this. The other chains and binders are on another long length of steel on the back of the trailer.

    What would you do?

Maybe this? Come straight across with both, and throw a strap over the middle with edge protection for good measure? IMG_20200919_093807.jpg

Go side to side like your second post... But fish chains under the steel banding.

I would have turned the pallet around. Then you could have put two chains directly over the pallet

I don't think this suckers moving at all but I do like the turning of the pallet around. Just not sure it's worth doing at this point. What do you guys think of this?

I agree with this. It might be a bit harder to get it off with the forklift, but I would worry about that long piece sliding out to the side and turning it the other way would solve that. Obviously it has some good banding on it, but I never rely on banding.

That ought to hold it, but again, you could have saved yourself the time and a strap by turning it. Not trying to grill you or poke fun or anything, just food for thought for next time. Safe travels!

No disclaimer needed man, I appreciate the input, whether critical or not, I'll take it all. I'm learning on my own here.

Thank you all for your experienced and supportive suggestions.

For next time I'll turn the pallet around.

Out of curiosity, because the chain is 25', I think I could have done this with one chain, but still two binders. Is there any reason not to?
