Loud howling noise has Cummins Techs stumped.

Initially the current shop was claiming that the previous shop had installed the fuel gear pump wrong and that they would have to replace the motor. Now after both shops have talked, they are saying it was the "new" oil pump that the first shop had also replaced was defective. This way it the responsibility of Cummins not the shop to make the repair. All Cummins wants to do is replace the damaged parts, clean the motor, and put everything back together. Everything we have ever heard is that they will never get all of the fine metal out and that it will eventually ruin the motor. We are screwed!

 

Nothing new. So sad.

 

Cummins... Used To be a good motor many years ago. Now they are another cheap ### mfg that makes a cheap product that is barley stood behind. You could've give me a ISX anything....
I wish they kept the old reliable N14 and just updated it through the years..

Sorry to hear they won't make it right... I'd consider selling it before catastrophe strikes very soon.

 

I wonder how this turned out. Bob did you get your new motor or what?
