Hey everyone I’m a fleet owner with over 25 trucks in Winnipeg. My trucks are leased on with all the big Canadian company. I’m just concerned why are dispatchers Recruiters / managers playing favourite s. Apparently some guy here in Winnipeg has 22 trucks leased on with day and Ross , it’s impossible to get into those day and Ross pike runs for owner operators. He has em all covered and he bought the recruiter a car Is this something that really happens ? !

Well apparently this does happen according to your post.Personally I would never work for an outfit that would allow this to happen.

Wherever there is money crooked things happen.

On a smaller scale I know of Union jobs where the workers that want to Brown nose pay for the Foreman to have breakfast lunch and dinner… and maybe ladies of the evening or whatever else.

Hell where I live it is like hazzard county and boss hog.

I have a neighbour that has boss Hogg paid off and that place over there they violate every rule there is in the book and then some. You would not believe it if you saw it.

I know another guy that was a contractor and every customer he ever had including the local counties and municipalities he ripped them off and including the concrete and blacktop plants. Then he got introduced to someone at the Port and as soon as he got done paying them off next thing you know hes got a giant trucking company where he rips off all of the owner operators.

This stuff happens every day everywhere in politics and in the private sector.

Money and "gifts" get you what you want..

I seen this all the time at Bison/TransX/SLH (O/O's calling planners cell phones directly, giftcards or Interact online money transfers to their personal emails) CANEDA, Payne, TEAMS Transport were the worst, they didn't even hide it (gym bags full of cash, duty free bags of booze and tobacco right in the dispatch office), So its nothing new, esp in Trucking; no one gives a #### on the best of days so.

The all time worst/MVP of bribes is CNTL, I've literally heard of guys with 10-20 trucks on there (I live 5 mins from one of their biggest terminals in Conrich AB, so I'm around CNTL guys a lot), buying dispatchers/planners/terminal managers houses. I've also heard stories of some pretty wild coke parties, with young girls that go on for days.

Sadly no, I'm just a lonely little whitey contractor. I don't get invited to the big Desi coke parties, where the CNTL bosses go hard.

Yea, I know lots of people who have tried to get into CNTL for years, and nothing. I even gave it a go a couple times, pretty hilarious stuff. I'm told these guys are just big time fleet owners, 20-50 trucks, really well connected with the temples, UNIFOR, etc etc etc and stuff. Anyway, bunch of these fleet owners took the CNTL management/UNIFOR reps to this Mansion, and they had a coke party that would make Tony Montana blush. Apparently the guy who own's the mansion, is "The Boss" who runs 200 gravel trucks in Alberta, and is also connected to a bunch of shady ####, like Concrete Equities, Pawn Shops, Solo Liquor Stores etc etc.

Just another day in N.E Calgary.
