When I pulled reefers for you guys, my dispatcher was an ex driver. Didn't help at all! Tried to do both jobs some times.
Roehl is a good starter company. They are geared towards getting you out on the road safely. I stayed a year with them, and have good memories from them.
I'd never go back to them, but I have good memories from them.

 

Hey all,I run SE Regional, I usually stay in the SE,but last week I ran from GA to MO,then to KS,then to TN 2 PA,Pa 2 MA,MA2 CT,CT 2 SC,then to home.Seems miles are better running SE. Told freight is slow,I wouldnt know it by the way I am running and hearing alot of national guys saying the same.Still have problems but will with any company I guess.Pretty much all companies are the same,I guess its just what you get used to

 

Regional drivers get paid less per mile than National drivers do. Roehl is notorious for running their SE regional drivers all the way to the west coast. You win by getting the miles, you lose by losing your hometime, they win by you getting paid less per mile than the National driver that should be running it.

 

Almost forgot, Roehl will also run their national drivers regional and give that regional driver the national. I just cant stop saying it... Its all at the dispatchers discretion though. If you have a dirty one, like most of them, they will run you like this. Remember that they get little bitty bonues for revenue and savings generated by how well you run and how much they can take advantage of you.

 

Really? I know they deny the bonuses when I ask about them.Also Lets be fair SE Regional w/ Roehl means anything SE of Alaska!!!

 

Yeah,I am the guy who has posted positive things about Roehl.I just got a phone call from a driver who used to drive for Roehl.I became aqainted with him while I was driving for Roehl. He is now driving for Transport America.He tells me that Roehl has started treating their older experienced drivers like crap. Then when the older drivers quit they replace them with newbees just out of school.Naturally at a much lower rate of pay.Guess even the better companies get their ##### in an uproar at times.During my time with Roehl I only had a couple of minor problems that were taken care of by a call to my fleet mgr.My how times change. Sorta glad I am retired and no longer have to put up with the BS.Anyway Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you out there. Roaddog in NE Ohio.

 

like that in most of those bigger companies... Im a regional now and get paid pretty good. When i ask for an outta region run they get me one if theres one available i cant complain. We dont run new equip but its not crap so im happy

 

Is anybody out there on the 14/7 home time slip seating out of Jacksonville pulling vans? Like to know your miles, how are the tractors, where do they traditionally send you?

Hi, I have just recieved a date to start Roehl's training, I have never drivin before but have been around trucking for the last 6 years doing truck maintenance for my father in law, I was wondering if anyone runs the midwest regional flatbed fleet or had any information about it, and once I am out on my own will i be able to drive the truck home from the hub or not?

 

You should've asked the recruiter that. Depending mainly on how far you are from there and if you can find a space and if there's any freight around there. I'd park it at Sharonville if I lived where you do. It's paved and there's plenty of room.
