I am going to orientation at Roehl in Gary IN on Nov 16th. I was wondering about the equiptment at Roehl. I know I'm a new driver so I wont be getting anything new, but was wondering the type and condition of the older equiptment.
    Thanks!

It's easier to come here, post a question and then go back to sleep waiting for an answer.

It's also more reliable to ask people who might actually know than to believe all the hype on a particular companies web site. Of course they're going to say their equipment is in good condition, so does every other company....dont make it so though. Cut the guy some slack, he's just trying to get the perspective of drivers instead of some desk jocky who's job is basicly to sell the company to future drivers.

Freightliner Columbias Mid Roofs go to the solos and condos go to the trainers. Also they have a few Volvo VNL630's and Intl 9400I's. I have yet to see a prostar and or cascadia though they are out there.

2005 to 2007 freightliners and internationals I have been in several trks here and the equipment is well taken care of and serviced. Dont count on a new trk but you can count on a good running trk. If there is a problem on the road maint will work with you to resolve the problem , but dont expect to be sent to the nearest dealer for repairs TO COSTLY !!! You will be routed to a terminal for repairs and somtimes you will switch to a loaner trk to keep you going, all depends on circumstances at the time.

I've seen a couple Cascadia's at Marshfield. One midroof and one condo that was brand new.

Please keep us posted on your RDTC class and how things go...
Roehl is one of the companies I am considering, especially after
    a visit to Marshfield WI.

I worked there for a year. They always seem to have rows of new trucks at Marshfield. They never seem to make it out into the field though. I saw a whole row of trucks with the plastic from the factory still on the seats, just covered in dust, flat tires from sitting, etc.

The trucks they have are spec'd pretty decent. They just don't seem to have issued any new ones for awhile.

are you sure those were new trucks and didnt just have plastic applied to the seats?

I see the same thing at werner but not quite to that extreme. I was in dallas recently at the terminal, saw miles of brand new trucks (but no flat tires LOL), and several new drivers waiting for trucks. I dont get why these companies screw with people like that.
