Factory worker, had to have back surgery and coudn't do that anymore so I went to trucking school. Always loved anything with a motor. Especially when I can control it. ;)

waitress, housewife, carny, bartender, entrepreneur, garment factory worker, motel manager, beach bum, police officer, corrections officer, clinical psychologist, teacher, social worker, nurse, and finally truck driver. Did not actually work in all those fields but went to school for the ones that required it.

Started driving truck right after retiring from law enforcement. Prior to that, worked construction, retail grocery, wholesale electronic parts counter sales and shipping receiving.

Kids are grown. Have been for a long time. Some folks are born knowing what they want to do. The rest of us learn the hard way.

I owned a lawn care company for 5 yrs prior to driving truck. Got to thinking the grass was greener on the other side. Boy was I wrong. I ended up the first 3 yrs of trucking working 12 months a yr to make the same that I used to make in 9 months.

Drove for 7 yrs before getting back to lawn care etc earlier this yr. Now what to do in the winter is the biting reality. Just like it was yrs ago, and one reason I got into trucking in the first place.
