Ok, I've just arrived at Jewel. I thought it was going to be a store, as i was loaded yesterday morning in indianapolis, and am now here, 180 miles away. I was told not to be more than 30 minutes early, i figured it was because the store did not have much room. Welll..i got here 40 minutes early. Apparently no trucks are unloaded until 330 pm (my "appointment"), and there are 50 trucks that have arrived more than 30 minutes early. I parralel parked on the street like we arent supposed to.

then all of a sudden fire trucks rush past. Apparently the DC is on fire?! theres a lot of smoke.

I feel for you at that place. It sucks to say the least.

Maybe the smoke is from a burnt meal.:biggrin_255:

Yeah, it just keeps getting better. It's 6:30 here, i've been here for 3 hours, a lumper is lumping my load. Its palletized but has to be broken down from 23 pallets to 39. OH AND ITs COSTING $155! That's...INSANE. I was goign to do it myself, had dollar signs in my eyes, but werner does not have the proper insurance for it. Whatever. If I get my way i will never be back..

Also, Jewel wasn't on fire, too bad. It was someones back yard.

I delivered there once. Dispatch thought it would only be a 15 minute deal. After 4 hours, they got the point I had been trying to get through dispatchers dumb blonde head. Told her to hold the hand over the other ear in the future.

I think thats one of my offhours dispatchers. I had issues getting keys for a truck i picked up and she transfered me to fleet assignments...on a sunday...and she knew they werent open...god.

most of my off hours dispatchers do that ####. they pawn you off on someone else. Like yesterday, well my apu doesnt run properly. It stalls as soon as i fall asleep. I asked what i do for heat. Dispatch told me well we dont want you to freeze, so idle the truck when you sleep but try not to idle all day. I asked how i make the truck idle (it has a 5 minute shutdown because it is apu equipped). Call safety. I call safety. Im not a mechanic wtf you asking me for?! sent a message to road breakdown. Well, its not possible.
.... So i just have to wake up every couple of hours and restart my apu. Oh well im going home and having it fixed on my hometime tomorrow.

that's cheap. Albertsons charges $175 to offload pallets that don't have to be broken down.
