How the hell you going to strike when guys are out running on stolen mc numbers like it's a normal thing and no insurance?

This is rich coming from a guy who only takes what’s offered instead of selling himself and his services. Because the later is what multiple people are trying to tell you to do.

The polished aluminum, spotless stainless steel and neat tarps of mine have earned more business than they’ve driven away. That’s a fact. One you’re unwilling to accept, but a fact nonetheless. It shows the customer I’m serious about my work and take pride in it. The customers that appreciate that pay better, treat you better and are more than willing to work with you on the future. The customers that don’t? They’re slow. They don’t pay well. They’re rude. They abuse your equipment. They waste huge swathes of your time without any compensation for you. I could go on and on.

Bottom line is it boils down to experience. You can get experience by listening to those with said experience, or you can gain experience the hard way. Your choice. But as to the “wisdom” you mentioned? Sell yourself and your services. Get off the phone and the computer, step out of the truck and speak to the workers and management at shippers and receivers. Learn what they need to make their jobs easier and position yourself to provide for those needs if you can while still making money. You’ll quickly learn why customers fall into one of the two categories I mentioned earlier.

It’s not just what you know. It’s both what and WHO you know as well.

    All right. I am convinced.
So what color of a truck and trailer do I need to make it an enchanting experience when I show up with it at nearest the Caterpillar plant? The one in Aurora, IL...
I can even wear a silk suit and a tie....I'll try to look as handsome as Don Draper from Mad Men.

I heard once that a man without a suit is an unfulfilled man. I am not too sure about that but I think that a grown up man needs to have at least one suit.
Think about it...you are in that metalo-plastic shell for the most of your adult life and you miss out on those banquet ####tails and all those well dressed men and women talking the talk and sipping on those ####tails with you.
Wearing a suit while you drive must feel good and rewarding. Why not try?! What do you have to lose?

Don't do it. I bought a very nice suit. Wore it once. It sat in the closet for years, and when I tried to wear it again, it had shrunk!!!! Couldn't get the pants buttoned.

The last suit I bought was in 2017.
The tailor at that shop had to make it fit on me. I said to him that I was going to lose weight as I intensified my swimming workouts at the time but he said nothing, just kept taking the measurements. I was a little disappointed with his silence and lack of acknowledgment of my ambitions. The suit still fits me well, although I don't need a belt any more. The belt is still the same, and I remember that back in 2017 I had a few notches left on it.
I know one thing, if I can't fit in that suit, that will mean that I let things out of control and at least I need to exercise more.

I bought a suit in 1972 to get married in. Never wore it again and have never bought another one. If I can't go somewhere wearing jeans and a decent shirt, I ain't going.

I thanked you because not going where a suit is expected is better than going there without one.
That is about having tactful manners.
The only time I would not expect someone to wear jeans at my home would be during Christmas dinner.
