I remember something about all loads being planned at 50mph avg. I do remember getting one that averaged 85mph.

The other "unreality" is the amount of time at the dock. I've had them schedule two stops 2 hours apart. Told them it wouldnt work. Only 25 mins late, but the second stop made me even later due to incompetence.

What we need is a matter transmitter and a fleet of robots that work. Oh wait, wouldn't need robots if we could just transmit/receive matter. OOPS, wouldn't need drivers either...oh nooooo. Bet they would still be late.

Yea those are my favorite ones. And then when you tell dispatch they try to make it sound like it's your fault. I simply remind them the trucks are governed at 62.
All in all, though, communication is the key. I tell my DM everything right from the get-go. He knows that if he sends me a preset while I am driving I WILL NOT send in an 11 until I have time to stop, look, and calculate if it will work. On FEW hot loads I'll call him and have him read it to me and run the numbers verbally and then I'll just have him force-11 it for me to set the wheels in motion. The downside is we're at the mercy of their mood-if they have a fight with the wife (or husband) before leaving for work, or don't eat their wheaties, or get stuck in traffic, or whatever, their work gets sloppy at the office.

True BUT if your in the right state, at the right time......and going back to the 6 p's, my time off WAS supposed to have started yesterday. Course I then got that 7 drop load from hades with the 1st stop being at the PFG in Springfield that put me behind for the whole day. Only appt I made "on time" that day.

    yeah 50 mph my ###!:biggrin_25523:

On a side note... last time I was WVC I was talking to a L/O and he said that the L/O planners were being retrained because of all the stupid stuff like the above and they are supposed to priority on the loads. Maybe if we are lucky the other planners for the company drivers will be retrained.

The people at Freddie stores are pretty good at getting you out quick. Even though they are driver assist loads, after doing a couple freddie stops, i dont think they are that bad... its the Freddie DC's that are bad. Usually the people on the Freddie Store docks will call your next stop for you and tell them that you are on the way.

Yep I do & its all crap, Central sold the truck out from under him to someone that offered big cash for it. The trailer is still in the company, but you have have to look real close to find it becuase its been repainted to the old Central colors. Its a 54# series & its the ONLY one in the company that has chicken lights.
