    Oh that’s cool, I’ll have to keep that in mind. I bet you’ve probably had some taller drivers use a selfie stick to take a picture of the seal. I don’t know why that immediately popped into my mind lmao. Work smarter not harder I suppose lol.

    The top of tanks are only 10ft high and you don't have to climb all the way on top of them. Granted I'm pretty tall, but I only need to go halfway up the ladder, about 5ft off the ground, to see the seals.

    While I haven't tackled this entire thread yet, I just started reading the last few pages. I've encountered this sort of thing earlier in my career where someone on TTR creates a long thread about a company and always talks about how great it is: all the coast to coast runs, a great dispatcher, great customers, steady high-mile weeks and big paychecks consistently, etc etc. I went to work for such a company, but when I got there it wasn't nearly as consistent as the guy on the forum made it sound. Have you considered that maybe you're one of the favored few that gets the royalty treatment and there are countless other drivers at your company that are getting pinged around all over on low-mile run after low-mile run, dealing with mechanical problems, getting hung up at shippers for hours on end, not getting layover or breakdown pay, doing east coast regional work when they really want to be driving primarily out west, etc. etc?

    Isn’t this seriously the main problem in trucking. All these jobs promising 100k + a year and technically they’re not lying you can make that much but in most companies it’s only a select few that do. Like dispatch’s favorite and never ever goes home. I worked for them for a few months a few years ago and honestly I can say it’s pretty accurate. Wouldn’t say I was getting what they were, but I was close. If it wasn’t for my current job getting me home for a few days each week, Indian River never did me dirty and they’d be one of the first places I’d switch back to if I wanted to change jobs

    You think you're going to walk in off the street, and get the same runs, etc, as the guy who's been there 5 years, or more, and has shown to be on time, treats the equipment good, has a good rapport with customers, the people in the office, etc? They don't know you from Adam, all that takes time.

    Also to your credit, it seems the majority of negatives I read are from 5-10 years ago. If someone's averaging 3250 miles per week at 60cpm it almost sounds too good to be true.

    Problem with many companies is they won't get the "time" if they create such uneven treatment amongst their drivers. Most drivers will just get disillusioned faster than the company realizes, and the revolving door keeps revolving.
