Since we've already hijacked the OP's thread:
I spent my working life doing something very different, in corporate and business environments. For me, driving is a retirement hobby. Thanks to audio books, my time in the truck is spent 'reading' more, and more broadly, than probably any time in my life. Getting paid is nice, but if I were in it for the money, I'd be doing something that pays a whole lot better.
Doing anything for 40 years seems a lot. My company uses part-time casual drivers, so I can get behind the wheel a few times a week, but also have time for other things. I'm fortunate that I don't have to drive any more than I want to, and I'm with a company that allows for it.

I don't know about other old guys but I'm 74 and I couldn't get my foot up on the dash even if I wanted to. Lol

    I
ive been putting applications in everywhere, trying to find a better truck driver job,no matter what anyone says age discrimination is in full effect, they can’t and won’t say it, but it’s real, because I have 30years experience and a clean driving record,I have all the qualifications needed but I still can’t find a new job at 61years old.

Read some of the threads here and you will realize it is not just age. Many younger drivers are also having a hard time finding work these days.
Freight is down, so hiring is down.

I did at 64. I'm 66 now. I just tried and succeeded. ( knock on wood). I didn't go asking anyone. Applied to a company that trained me and got my cdl. I guess the question is, if your healthy. There's laws against age discrimination, but it'd be hard to prove.

BTW, I've seen some drivers that walk like Joe biden and it makes me feel young.

Why don't you take your stats and go back-off.

What type trucking jobs are you applying for?
61 is not old for CDL drivers.
    Try this:
    Driver Pulse by Tenstreet
Tenstreet is not a recruiting agency; it's a software application that tries to match drivers with trucking companies and trucking companies with drivers.
