If i read that right for solo you make 120 for being availible to work and 41cents a mile on top of that. So a 300 mile day would 243. My guess is there are plenty of short mile runs. I would not consider that bad

Oh that’s good then. Cuz I’m going to be doing regional west 11. This is my first time driving and I’m nervous. Do u think one week on the yard one week with a mentor is enough training? My fear are right turns. Do trucking companies send you trucker friendly routes?

The way I read that means $120 a day plus mileage after you go solo, but your mileage will be put on the next month's pay.

I was turned loose on my own after getting my license without any additional training. I've been driving for a year and a half or so now and made it through without any incidents, but it was definitely not the best scenario for a new driver..."here's the keys, go to Navasota and pick up a boom lift" (300 mile turn loading an 18,000 pound machine with a new CDL and zero miles beyond what I drove in school) Looking back on it I should've refused. I made it back to the yard though.

I don't think one week is enough training, but do your best, trip plan, and watch your mirrors... Especially while turning.

Don't worry, all that will come with time and practice.

Learning to deal with winter I think is biggest challenge out here.
