I did pretty good this time. Only forgot some spare deodorant for when my current one runs out, and my laundry bag.

Finished up my 34 Saturday morning. Already put that cigarette load on me Thursday when I started my 34 for yesterday morning then reload came through Friday. Dropped that in Kansas City and grabbed an empty and went to Union, MO for drop and hook headed to Pa to drop. Took US50 instead of 70 and was much more relaxed with hardly any traffic in the way all the way to Union. Sometimes the back roads are nicer to run. Dropped the Pa this afternoon and picking up at IKEA in Perryville, Md in the morning to drop in Norfolk tomorrow.

Welp, looks like I will be taking an extended vacation. Tested positive for sleep apnea. Severe sleep apnea, they said. Can't legally drive a truck until I get that sorted, which will involve at least 30 days of sleeping with a CPAP and keeping track of how it affects my sleep.

Done by a non-company doctor, I hope? That sucks, dude. Under different circumstances, I’d love a month long vacation. Don’t be shy about asking for a variety of masks if you find one uncomfortable. My mother had sleep apnea and said the worst part was finding one that was somewhat comfortable.

Crete uses a contraption that attaches to your wrist and pointer finger. Saw it when I was in orientation for my current company. They used the same hotel. 5 out of the 10 new hires had them on. My doctor used something that had electrodes that attached all over my torso and head. If you can sleep that that on, you’re doing something. Thankfully, I was told I do not have it.

Little wristwatch thingy with a clip that goes on your finger to monitor your blood oxygen levels. They also have a sensor that goes on your chest to monitor your breathing.

Done by some independent company that mailed me a test.

I have known for years that I have sleep apnea. I just didn't want to deal with it, so I ignored it. But watching my mom die of Alzheimer's, and reading that sleeping less than 6 hours a night puts you at increased risk for Alzheimer's, was enough to finally motivate me. I'm lucky to get 6 hours of sleep in a night.
