    Good point.

    Buttonhook right-hand turns

@88 Alpha how about merging these threads so we can quit while we're ahead on this one? I can only keep up with so many expedite_it threads at a time LOL

Lol, ok, since he posted HIS version, this is what I REALLY said...

And clearly, if you have the room, or other mitigating factors like your truck wont turn tight enough to handle it, or whatever other reason you dont or wont, fine. I dont care. You do you. Im not getting involved in 3 or 4 threads that say the same thing. I responded to one of his posts ONCE. Clearly he is a nutcase.

And as I said in the text below "control of your equipment" is the key. If you cant control where your equipment is going to go you either adapt to the situation or you get out of this profession.

I had a squad leader once that had a photographic memory. He could quote you page and paragraph right out of the manual on how to do things. But he didnt have the ability to adapt to the situation. He would try to change the situation to match the book. After I got my own squad, he took his guys out on a patrol and got himself and most of them killed off. Guess why?

    I never lost a guy...

I said it in the other thread but will repeat it here. I have been driving farm trucks with hay wagons since about 1965, and army trucks with trailers since 1975. Got my CDL in 1984. Only chargeable Ive ever had is a I got caught in a blizzard in Wyoming in 1986 and got blown off the hiway by the wind (chargeable since "I shouldnt have been out there"). No accidents of ANY kind since 1998. No tickets since 2004 (in fact I havent even had anyone look at my paperwork in almost 6 years now). I was a CDL instructor for 3 years and have been an owner operator for 8 years now.

Was going to bring up Michigan in a previous discussion about U-Turns..

Figured I’d just be quiet and not confuse anyone.

Heres the deal, you do what have to to keep your load, the public and your equipment safe. Only a unexperienced driver would tell you you never do anything thats need to accomplish the the directive, keep everybody and the equipment safe.
You have to do whats needed, and theres a million situations out there. I did a blindside on a test drive and got a lecture from some yard jockey about you never blindside, My experience tells me if its the safest way , then do it.
