I am starting orientation with Averitt in a few days.:smt038 I have just left US Xpress after being with them for 2.5 years and will explain the reasons in the right Forum for this.:protest:
I cannot find any information on here about Averitt but have spoken with several of their drivers and always heard good things about the company.
Is there any drivers out here that have driven for Averitt or that has any information for me on the company??
I would appreciate any info I could receive.
    Thanks,
    Suzy:smt039

I have heard nothing but good things about them. I think they rate at the very top of the pile. Conversely, I have NEVER heard anything bad about them. That probably says even more.

 Thank you so much for the thumbs up view on Averitt! I do appreciate your prompt reply to my post:smt039
I do realize that all companies have their good and bad points but after the experience with USX I have really been checking out other companies before committing myself to them. I also have been told that Averitt is about to go totally autoshift like USX. I am happy to hear that because now all of the drivers who started out with a company that only had autoshift have choices!
    Thanks again,
    Suzy:thumbup: :smt039

Only thing I can think of for Aeritt is, uniforms, and you do not take the tractor home.

The only complaint I have heard from their drivers is no jake brakes.

I checked them out and was very interested. But, not only can you not take the tractor home, it had to parked at one of their TERMINALS. No terminal near me. Great benefits from the crayon(colored) brochure they sent me.

I had an application in with Averitt and the recruiter called me and more or less told me that I would be hired, but she had to get back with me later in the day. She called me back and since I had one (1) speeding ticket on my record and because it was 15 mph over the speed limit I was denied employment. You cannot have any speeding tickets 15 mph or more over the speed limit for the last 12 months. I have three months to go before I hit my 12 month anniversary for the ticket. Soooooooooo now I am back looking again. As far as not taking the truck home, I would be glad since my driveway is just big enough for the truck and one car and I would have to park over at Wal Mart. The speed of the truck would keep me from getting another speeding ticket, so no complaint there. Besides I have been driving long enough and tired of having to get from point A to point B busting my hump and loosing sleep to do it and would enjoy a comfortable, relaxed ride.

Going to be very hard to find a job with a 15+ over ticket. All trucking companies consider this a "major" violation. The year thing is still going to be an issue with getting a job, you may find a company that will hire you with it. I would spend $2000 for an attorney to keep taking it back to court over and over before I would allow a 15+ to hit my MVR. perhaps something to think about next time or try not to go 15+ again

Averitt is a great company and you do get the MI if you are in the right state. A good place to work for Averitt is out of TN, MO, IN and KY. Uniforms is a big plus for me and I do not have a place to park a truck so I am very happy with them.:biggrin_25519:

I supposedly have a job offer from Averitt after I sucessfully finish Driver Solutions truck driving school. Have you any of you dealt with trainees coming out of the Drivers Solutions school? If so, did they seem to have the right foundation to build upon? Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
