KLLM has gone to the time honored "share-cropper" system. That means unless you are a lease purchaser, a.k.a sharecropper your miles will diminish and you will be stuck in the living hell of PA, OH, NY, VA, NJ. No loads of any distance will be given to you, all you will get is crappy loads that the share croppers refuse. Company drivers, solo and teams are getting the shaft.

That is a bunch of crap. I work for another company and they sent me for a pickup on Memorial Day and I got the number and called. You have to be smart enough to know that a dispatcher just wants to get you a load and not check on the details

ALWAYS call a shipper or receiver when you get a "holiday" load! CYA! Unless you like the town where you're going, call them to be sure they are open and THEN verify with them the actual time for delivery or p/u! Then when you find out that if course dispatch screwed the pooch let them know they did and the first thing you ask is do you get paid by the hour for sitting after you get this "hot" yes they'll try that BS on you or if you get layover or if they are going to pay a motel room!

Yes all of those are ROFLYAO deals but it doesnt hurt to let them know you're not the idiot here!

There are some cities where I don't mind sitting as they all have a great transit system, great venues to go to, fireworks (on the 4th) fantastic food and other fun things to do even family to see, so sent me there or let me stop while passing through on a major weekend! IDC as long as it's worth my time!

I didn't mean for the above post to sound so harsh! We are just somewhat fed up with KLLM and their attitude of taking care of their lease purchase people! We were given a swap load from a lease purchase driver....he was late getting it to us! We called the shipper to verify the reciever would be there to unload! Yes, now we know we should have called the reciever also. Lesson learned!!!
    Thanks for the advise!

Poverty level wages are your futures. Like it or find other employment is really what it boils down to.

Checking the details is what trucking company office staff such as sales/booking agents and load planners, and dispatchers get paid for, it's their job. The truck driver should not have to do every ones job only his or her own job. Even if you are a O/O that's not your responsibility to go behind every one else. You have to double-check and question everything your lousy company tells you and you question other peoples intelligence?
