Thinking of buying a used International tractor later this year , and if I do,will be getting the System1 warranty.

Anyone have any experience with this warranty?

Is it a problem to get them to honor their warranty?

Depends on what year and who had the tractor before as to whether I would even consider the extended warranty. If the engine has the 500K warranty option already, and since the transmission and rears (using synthetic lubes) will already usually have a 750,000 miles warranty if from Eaton, then getting the System1 warranty may be a waste of money. The components I mentioned are going to be your biggest cost if something goes wrong, and they may be covered already with their own warranty. I have not seen very many people use any of the System1 warranty they bought. International will just use the existing warranty on the engine and drive components instead of the System1 warranty if you were to have a problem. The odds are slim that you would have any other problem with the tractor that the System1 warranty would cover.

Thanks. I'll take that into consideration. The ones I am looking at are in the low 400's to mid 500,000 miles range and 2005 and 2006 models.

Looking also into tow truck insurance coverage,in case something disasterous happens and I will need a tow.
Is such coverage recommended? From experience,is it a hassle to get such coverage honored? At an extra charge,it can be included in the System1 warranty, and is available through OOIDA also. Which would be better?

I have towing coverage through my regular insurance carrier (Great West), and it's dirt cheap-about $60 a year with $250 deductible. Might be something to ask about.
