    im looking to get a new cb. right now i have a cobra 19dx, im lookin to upgrade. nothing is wrong with the one i have , just want more range and channels. Lookin to spend around $100

    Wrong thread for this topic. but you get no more channels without a ham license get over it. All cbs are limited to 5 watts by the fcc. Yes you can get them peaked and tuned to get more range. Or buy an amp(illegal). Or get the best antenna system money can buy. Ground the hell out of it. Get the lowest swr possible. Then get your cb aligned. Doing so will get you some real range legally.

    Just out of curiosity when was the last time one of you was issued a ticket or fined for having a CB over 4 watts? I know I never have

    BIG Brother gave up on 11m long ago driving by any big truck stop and listening on ch19 proves that or goto ch6 when the skip is rolling....about the only time you will hear from them is if your really being a PIA like bleeding over on your neighbors constantly, disrupting the emergency services freqs, or messing around on the ham bands w/o a license....
