Howdy fellow Mercers. I got back on the road on 24th. Sitting in Greencastle, PA doing a reset. I'll drop off a sea can in Newark tomorrow morning, and head back to Elkins, WV for the final drop off (I am doing LTL again).

If you recall, I wrote the above in early July. After I came back from vacation, I was sorting through settlement e-mails, and found out Stockton agent actually got me $150 for this. I called Stockton the other day to thank them.

I'm quick to come out here and gripe about wrong doings by some of evil agents we deal with. In fairness, I need to acknowledge when someone does the right thing.

Have you guys considered opening online checking accounts like E-trade or Charles Schwab?

I have an account with E-trade, and I have Mercer direct deposit money into that account. I only put fuel money on Comdata or TCH.

No ATM fee with E-trade debit card and you can make purchases anywhere Visa is accepted. They reimburse whatever ATM machines charge. APY is less than 0.5% for the moment, but it's better than most mega banks. No monthly fee if you maintain $5000 average balance, otherwise $15 per month IIRC. And FDIC insured just like local banks.

The only inconvenience is when you need a certified check, or a large sum of cash. I have another account with a local bank for that purpose, and I can transfer money from E-trade account online.

    Just an idea.

Your Comdata card will not be a #### very soon. We are going exclusively TCH. And that is what we were discussing, the fees for those cards.

Right. What I was getting at was I never use either Comdata or TCH for anything other than fuel purchase due to high transaction fees.

EDIT: Using your $24.50 ATM transaction as an example, with my E-trade check card, $3.50 would have been reimbursed into my account by E-trade.

Comdata will be a thing of the past here at Mercer as of September 17th.

Guess that means I should use what little bit of money I have left on it.

Ok I must vent a little. I unloaded in Green Bay at 7:15 this morning and have been sitting here glued to the load board waiting for something worth while to come up. finally at 4:30 3 loads out of Stevens point, Wi (90 mile DH) come up going to Columbus, Oh. Good loads I know I picked up there last week. So I call my Coordinator right away to get one and I was shocked to find out they were all gone and I was the 6th truck on list for those loads!! So I asked am I 1st anywhere and she said oh yes there are a couple of short loads in Chicago (200 mile DH) that I could have paying a buck ten after all the DH!!. Maybe someone can explain how I could be first for loads 200 miles away but not for loads 90 miles away when I have been sitting for 8 hours waiting for something?? I am starting to get confused and a bit frustrated at this point even more when I tried to have her explain it too me.

I thought they changed the system a few months ago, but a while ago when Eric was gone, I was asked by a temporary coordinator which board I'd like to get on after I got empty. So I'm confused myself.

I'm sitting in Louisville now, waiting for a good LTL going towards WI.

I bought 8 new trailer tires today. Got a set of Continental HSR2s, which have like 23/32" tread depth. $2190 with $500 credit for my old tires (4 of them were only few months old, the other 4 resembled racing slicks). Now I have low pro 22.5s all way around.

    EDIT: added tire pics

Are you still in Louisville? I'm sitting in the yard right now by the drivers lounge.
