Just got an 07' KW T600 issued to me with dual CB antennas on it. The ends of the cables look like an fm radio hook up. What do I need to get this to work.
if you want your cb to work right ever go to a cb shop run new cables and put a t on the back of the radio... there is an adapter splitter that those plug into i personally do not like them judging from my response i hope you can tell that just leave the old cable in there for when you turn it back in but have a set ran of propper cable type and length have ends put on it and viola you will be in good working business...........
Sounds like motorola plugs you need PL-259's into a T with 2 SO-239's and one PL-259 I have no idea why anyone would use motorola plugs
Thanks for the info. I think a CB shop is the way to go. I will be heading back out Saturday evening running from Austin to Laredo then to Dallas. Anyone know of a good shop along I-35 to get this done. What will it cost me ?
You do not Tee off the back of the radio. You have to use a cophase harness. Cophase harnesses are made using 75 ohm rather than 50 ohm coax.
Then WHY have 2 coaxes if you have to add the phasing coax ? Twin antennas are a bad idea go with one good one.
It is just the way it works. Cophased are two 75 ohm were single phases is a single 50 ohm. Depending ont he type of trailer being pulled, especially the trailer I pull, Cophased works better then single.
