    Runningman if your 14 ever runs out in Kinston, I can tell a few places where you could take your 10 hr break just a couple miles from the Crown plant.

    I will keep that in mind. I know there is a truckstop not far from there, and of course the wal-mart.

    Agreed the max miles u can squeeze out of e-logs is slightly less than paper logs. But, your math on how much money you are losing daily, weekly, annually is specious. Trucking isn't getting on a 2.5 mile oval and burning 11-hours of drive time every day. Frankly, dropping HOS to 8 and 10 from 11 and 14 wouldn't impact us much.

    Well with all do respect when I was on paper logs, just about every day I could get 650 miles on daily basis. Now my best day has been 545 miles. I'm not a mathematical genius by any stretch of the imagination, but I have gone from bringing home over $1000 a week after all deductions to not making more then $ 750 bring home. We had fiver drivers quit this week out of the S.C. teriminal, and more are ready to head for z hills. I will try and hang on until the end of the month, but if things don't improve I will have no option, but to start looking AGAIN.

    E logs might not be bad in a truck load scenario, but in a LTL gig it kills your 14 everyday and in my opinion that is where the money is lost.

    Geez I run anywhere from 630 to 700 miles a day on elogs running 9 to 10.50 hrs a day

    You also run coast to coast for Calex from what I understand. As Runningman stated e-logs are a hard pill to swallow for a regional LTL driver, and that's what Runningman is. I don't see how e-logs can allow any driver with LTL regional/local freight to be overly productive unless shippers and receivers work in a timely manner and keep the truck moving.

    You are correct. If I was running truckload or coast to coast e logs wouldn't be such a bitter pill to swallow, but in the LTL industry to keep drivers they are either going to have to increase the mileage pay or increse the stop pay to make up for the loss in money.

    I will either leave out tonight at 9pm when my 34 reset is up, or get up at 0300 and head to Andover, Ma.. I have a 0700 appt. Tuesday morning so I guess I will make my decision after the second playoff game tonight. I'm glad im headed North this week instead of down South that way I don't have to deal with that snow and ice storm that's taking place today and tomorrow. I hope everyone has a safe and productive week.

    I've been keeping up with this thread...great read runningman!
    Just wanted to comment that $750.00 bring-home after deductions still ain't too shabby.
    Especially for a company that gets you home most weekends.
    Granted, it's not the $1,000k you were making....but it's better than what alot of guys are makin' out there running paper logs.
    If you leave here, odds are you may wind up at a company that implements e-logs again.
    Like you said, it's the future of the biz...
