NICE - so understand the 'caregiving' - we did that for Klingon's Mom... this will be a great adventure for you guys too!! Definately stay in touch - we'll need to meet up sometime and we'll spot you some coffee
Hi, I am painNdanecks' wife and I thank you so very much for your posting. When my husband wanted to go into trucking I got excited since I knew that would mean we could get back on our feet and really get going with our 'plans' for our life. Then he told me he wanted me to come join him on the road. I said sure why now take some time off and join you on a run or two...and then he said no, how about u stop working your crummy job after I get going and we put some money away and you travel with me?? I had a bunch of questions and fear about it, but after the last couple weeks of reasearching and reading about it, I say why the heck not! Life is an adventure, not a destination!
That is is - an adventure!! However - not to rain on your parade - also realize that its not all wine and roses either. As much as I would like to think its going to be. A truck is a REALLY tiny space. We are also talking about togetherness 24/7. Of course a lot depends on the attitude you bring into it as well... the the attitude of adventure - that's a good one... keep that in the foerfront - and you will do well!! (So I say - not even being out there yet - LOL)
Careful how you answer this question - your wife might be reading - LOL! About the woman's place - or Klingon catching it
Yes, Nick and I are together 24/7 as it is now, and we love it. The only time we are apart are my little 5-6 hour shifts 4 to 5 days a week. Then we have a small bedroom that we rent from my parents, so moving to a rig should not be as big of an adjustment, but will still be an adjustment. We do camping any time we can for weeks at a time. Anytime I have a day off we are usally making day trips around the state and surounding states. Nick acutally poposed to me while camping. So, just as camping and road trips can be trying I know this will be too. But can be fun. I understand that everything has it's pros and cons and as long as your willing to work with the cons and enjoy the pros things should go ok!
a woman's place.... im only safe if she has books to read... so im bying a small bookstore so she will leave me alone...lol
It almost sounds like you're already living the life, just not on wheels yet - LOL! The hard part right now for us - is the separation. This is the longest we have EVER been apart. Even while he was an O/O 20+ years ago. THANK GOODNESS for cell phones and internet! That is all that has made it bearable... that and the knowledge we are working towards something together
LOL - LOVE books!! I had over 800 paperbacks and have read them all! Some more than once so our daughter got me an e-reader for Christmas - that way I can still have books, but they won't take up the space!! I love my kid!!
