    X hours for reset?

    It's 70hours in 6days..not a week.. and it's a 34hour break that "resets" your 70.

your close, it's the 60/70 rule
May not drive after 60/70 hours on duty in 7/8 consecutive days. A driver may restart a 7/8 consecutive day period after taking 34 or more consecutive hours off duty.

Or keep logbook hours down to 9 or less a day (PAM makes THAT pretty easy)

I think even the worst job in trucking will be about three times what the OP could make anywhere else ... so $10, $15, or whatever per hour is really irrelevant.

HOS too, since the OP is just looking for a place to live.

Chiming in a bit late. Averaging my weekly pay for the past 6 months i make $885 a week. I drive team from Atlanta to Seattle and back with 1-2 days off a week. I average about $17-$18.50 an hour.

Probably just got his CDL, applied at several companies, chose the one he wanted, GOT ON THE BUS TO ORIENTATION, and started running team. You should try it, you never know what you are going to make until you do.

Do all line haul driving jobs make that much? For example this one in San Diego? http://www.careerbuilder.com/JobSee...ob_did=J8F68160NKVLNKWGSXZ&siteid=CBJUJU_Feed
